ORGANIC GARDENS FOR ALL SPACES AND BUDGETS

Edible Landscaping Ottawa designs sustainable, edible gardens for every budget. Since 2013, we've designed everything from balcony container gardens to complete backyard reinventions.

WHAT IS EDIBLE LANDSCAPING?

Edible landscaping is the practice of planting fruit, vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers, turning an urban garden into a beautiful and sustainable food source. You can go all in with a fully edible garden or dabble with a mixed garden that’s part ornamental and part edible.

Growing your own food saves money and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. It attracts beneficial insects like bees and butterflies.

And nothing tastes better than fresh-picked food from your own garden!

ORGANIC MASTER GARDENERS AT YOUR SERVICE

Our team uses shape, texture, and plant combinations to bring your vision to life.

We use organic gardening methods in everything we do.

That means we begin by analyzing the soil to determine what plants will grow best in your ecosystem. We choose plants native to the region to ensure a lush and happy garden. For walkways and decks, we use natural stone, cedar and recycled materials because they’re better for the environment.

And we don’t use pesticides. Instead we explore why weeds and insects are in your space and get to the root of that issue.

MEET THE TEAM

Gavin Morrison

Owner & builder

Gavin Morrison is the owner, designer and builder – he  and his team do all the heavy lifting so you don’t have to! Growing up in Eastern Ontario, Gavin spent his childhood summers digging in his parents’ vegetable patch.  He and his father spent many a sun-soaked summer’s day improving and building upon their family property.

Fast-forward to 2013, as Gavin’s young family grew, he found himself craving the juicy, fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables that came from his family garden so he did what any die hard do-it-yourself-er would do: he built his own garden.

James Sawchuk

Horticulture Specialist

James has been designing, building and taking care of gardens and entire properties for the past 15 years. Edible Landscaping was benefitting from his skills since the spring of 2020.

James has experience assisting and running our projects as well as designing and installing our ornamental and edible gardens for our clients.

We are happy he is back again this season!

Emma Pinder

Manager

Emma grew up in North Wales on a small holding, growing organic produce, raising livestock and generally relying on mother nature to provide. Intrigued and inspired by the 'cycle of life' I began learning practices that enabled me to work in collaboration with nature.

Emma has experience working in all levels of management at hotels and real estate firms as well as dabbling in the construction business.

We are excited to have Emma join our team this year.
